Concept
A community hub proposed within a former British High-Angle Battery in Għargħur, rehabilitating an abandoned historic site into a shared environment for social interaction and community engagement. The project reactivates the site while preserving its historical identity, supporting both individual and collective use. The design restores the original spatial organisation of the battery while introducing contemporary interventions to improve accessibility across its multiple levels. Ramped connections link spaces and provide areas for rest and social interaction, while elements such as an amphitheatre, recreational areas, and a community garden create a diverse and inclusive environment for everyday and cultural activities.
